We live in a busy world. We have responsibilities to our families, homes, careers, deadlines, and paperwork, and try to make sure all is in order for our futures. And then there's Christmas, the season of joy that is so lovely but can so often be chaotic in the shops, gift buying, getting and decorating the tree, preparing for visitors and making a fancy dinner. In the rush, some things get overlooked; some people get overlooked. However it's easy to make time for those people and we outline here all the ways that you can get involved and "make a change:"
Have a look at our "Wish List" page. It contains a list of the items we still need to complete our growing number of stockings. Buy and stuff some stockings by yourself or with a school, family or community group.
Buy unfilled stockings to donate, and we'll see they get filled.
Donate food items; we can never have enough baked goods and pizza!
If you like to sew, we can provide some lovely donated fabric to sew into stockings.
Become a member of the CIAO:VAN team -- we will be working through 2013 to establish an official non-profit status with the government.
Volunteer at a group stocking stuffing event
Make a cash donation using our PayPal secure option.
Spread the word to friends, co-workers and family; some of our Wish List items are things many people have access to -- soap and shampoo samples, unopened chapsticks, and unused winter gear like tocques and gloves.
Become involved in our "Pizza Pitch-In" project.
